Absence Procedures
The school gates open at 8:40am and pupils will enter school at 8:45am for registration and lessons to start. It is important that children are on time so they don’t disrupt their learning and the learning of others in class.
Absence
If your child is absent from school for any reason, please contact the school's main office on 0161 224 7079, before 9.00am, so that their absence is registered.
Reporting pupil absence plays a vital role in our Safeguarding procedure. If a child is absent from school with no contact we have a duty of care to make a telephone call to Parent and Carers for an explanation. If we are unable to reach you we will conduct a home vist.
This procedure is to ensure that we know where your child is and that you are all safe.
Any requests for Leave of Absence during term time for exceptional circumstances, must be provided in writing to the Headteacher.

Late Arrival
Children arriving late, after 8.40am, are required to sign in via the main office where they will be given a late card. Parents/Carers must accompany all late children to the school office. Lateness is closely monitored by the school and the Education Welfare Officer.
Sickness
If your child has been absence from school due to vomiting and diarrhoea we would ask that parents allow them a 24 hour period after the sickness for recovery so that they do not return to school too early and end up passing the bugs on to others.
